Austrian Civil Code translated into Russian

SPECHT BÖHM and „Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich“ have produced a Russian translation of the Austrian Civil Code. Moscow legal publishers “Statut” (www.estatut.ru) will publish a hard cover edition of the translation in autumn 2012.

In May of this year, SPECHT BÖHM partners Leopold Specht and Natalya Menshikova together with Dr. Ludwig Scharinger, the former Chief Executive and Chairman of the Managing Board of the Austrian regional bank “Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich” and current President of the Austrian-Russian Friendship Society, presented the translation of the Austrian Civil Code and related legislation into Russian.

The event was held at one of Moscow’s oldest museums, the Geological Museum Vernadsky of the Russian Academy of Sciences, opposite the Kremlin, and included talks on the role of codifications in the modernization of laws and legal systems by prominent guests from economic, government, legal and private sectors.  A reception, opened by the Austrian Ambassador to Russia, Dr Margot Klestil-Löffler, followed the talks and was held in the White Hall of the museum. It featured music of Russian concert pianist and philanthropist Yury Rozum and the award winning Dominant Quartett.
