International Global Law and Policy Workshop in Seggau, Austria

Specht Rechtsanwalt GmbH is pleased to announce the first annual IGLP Austrian Workshop to take place from 16 to 21 August 2010 in Seggau, Austria. The Austrian workshop is modeled on the annual IGLP Workshop, the first of which took place in June 2010 at Harvard Law School. The Austrian workshop will focus on the theme, Law as a Regulatory Device.

The six day intensive residential program will bring together doctoral and post-doctoral scholars from all over the world, including Albania, Austria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine. Together they will examine pressing issues in global law, economic policy and social justice following the economic crisis. Specific topics include: Global Regulation, Regulation after the Crisis  The US and the European Response and Regulation, The Role of Private Law and Private Enforcement. International experts from professional schools and organizations will partake to promote ideas and approaches to issues involving law, economics and global policy.

The faculty for the Workshop includes Prof. Dan Danielsen (Northeastern University School of Law), Justice Dennis Davis (Western Cape High Court, South Africa), Prof. Peter Doralt (Vienna University of Economics and Business), Prof. Gunnar Heinsohn (University of Bremen), Professor David Kennedy (Harvard Law School) and Dr. Leopold Specht of Specht Rechtsanwalt GmbH.

The workshop is co-organized by the Institute for Global Law and Policy at Harvard Law School, the Interdisciplinary Association of Comparative and Private International Law, Vienna, and FOWI, Research Institute for Central and Eastern European Business Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
